Niall James Horan was born in Mullingar, Dublin, Ireland on 13th September 1993. Mullingar is a small town with a population of 35,000 people. Niall has a mother called Maura and a Father called Bobby. He also has a brother called Greg (24). Niall went to St Mary’s Boys Secondary School.
Niall’s parents split up when he was 5 years old, he lived with his mother for 2 years then swapped between them for a few years but finally he ended up living with his father because it was more convenient for school. Niall was 12 when he started playing the guitar and is still playing now at the age of 18. Niall was studying to become a sound engineer but instead he auditioned for X Factor England in 2010. He got through to boot camp he then got out and was called back by the judges to be asked if he wanted to be in a group which is now known as One Direction. One Direction is a 5 person boy band that went on to come 3rd in X Factor.
Niall is a friendly, funny person. He was also the most devastated when they did not win the X Factor. One Direction won the best British single award at the 2012 British awards for their hit single What Makes You Beautiful. One Direction are touring the world, they are coming to Wellington on April 22 this year. They have become so popular that the tickets to their concert in the Saint James Theater sold out in 10 seconds flat.
We think that Niall James Horan is a very inspiring person because as you can see he followed his dreams although he was just a normal boy and now is a teen sensation.
